Treasurer and Katie Vander Weit as the Volunteer Coordinator.

Thanks
to Tasha Haefner for co-chairing this committee for the past two
years and many thanks to Peg Sibbet as Treasurer and Volunteer
Coordinator for the past two plus years.

Open PC Positions for 2008-2009:
(Keri Thayer) We
are currently seeking to fill some coordinator positions for this
upcoming school year. Current
open positions include: Community
Restaurants, and Kemps Give ‘em Five.
Thank you, Lisa Brinkley, for offering to coordinate the
General Mills Box Tops program.
A huge thanks to those who have offered their time to
continue coordinating some of the events and to those who are taking
on new roles. Please
contact Keri Thayer if you are interested in taking on a new role
for this coming year or would like to help in some way.

Uniform
Sale
– July 22:
(Peggy Zweber) Feedback was positive and the uniform sale seemed to
be very busy. Many
thanks to Susie Williams and Keri Thayer for greeting families and
being available to answer questions while promoting Parent
Connections. Michelle
Ludowese was also available to greet the new families to
St.
Michael
School
. Thank you to Peggy Zweber for coordinating this event – again J
School
Supplies:
(Keri Thayer) There
were approximately 180 school supply kits sold generating around
$500 for
St.
Michael
School
.
The monies will be put into a general fund.
The school supply kits will be here in time for Meet Your
Teacher Night and will be in the students’ classrooms for pick-up.
Ambassador
Family:

O’Connor) Many thanks to Peg Sibbet, Diane Glaser, Susan
O’Connor and Michelle Ludowese for offering to call our new St.
Michael School Families. Each new family was called and personally
welcomed to the school community.
The new families appreciated the calls and expressed how
excited they are to finally be a part of this great school
community. Please extend
a warm welcome to any new and/or returning school family you meet.
These families will also be called again sometime in October
or November for a follow-up on the start of the new year.
Upcoming
Events:
Summer Cleaning:
(John and Alison Zak) Many thanks to John and Alison for
coordinating the summer cleaning.
Email reminders have been sent, notices have been in the
church bulletin and the information is on the updated school
website. The summer
cleaning will be held on 8/18 from 5p-8p.
The
Room Parent Coordinators will be responsible for coordinating the
Winter Cleaning for the classrooms and a shared area in the school.
Details will be available as we approach this date in January
2009.
Meet Your Teacher Picnic:
(Keri Thayer and Susie Williams) The Meet Your Teacher Picnic will
be held on 8/28 from 5p-8pm. Hot
dogs and water will be provided.
Families are asked to bring a dish to share.
Postcards will be sent out with details.
Some volunteers will be needed that evening.
A sign-up sheet was passed around and an email will be sent
out as well.
Blessing
of the Backpacks - The
date has been set for the weekend of 8/23 & 8/24.
This
is a parish-wide event for all students to bring their backpacks to
church and receive a blessing from Father Sieg for the start of the
new school year. Receive
a Centennial pencil to kick-off the new year!
School
Pictures – Sept. 8:
(Kathy
Deis) School pictures will be taken on Monday,
September
8th.
Marathon
Kick-Off:
(Pam Neper)
Marathon
will be held on October 3rd this year.
Plans are underway for this event.
The Kick-Off will be on September 12th!
Watch for details.
Community Fest – Sept. 15th:
(Keri Thayer) Arrangements
are being made for St. Michael’s display at the Community Fest.
Wine Tasting – October 4th:
(Beth Caven & Peg Sibbet) Plans are underway for this year’s
Wine Tasting event. Volunteers
will be needed to assist with the set-up, clean-up and checking in
attendees. A volunteer
request will be sent out in September.
Please contact Beth Caven if you are interested in helping.
It was decided that this event will be placed on the Yellow
Volunteer Sheets for next year.
Pancake Breakfast – October 5th:
(Teri Benson) Many
thanks to Tasha Haefner for coordinating the Pancake Breakfasts for
the past two years and a huge thanks to Teri Benson for taking over
this role. All proceeds
from this Pancake Breakfast will go towards the
Marathon
goal. Please watch for
details regarding volunteer requests.
Bookfair – September 29th – October 6th:
(Debra Meidl &
Leslie Meyer) Plans are underway for this first Bookfair.
Volunteer needs are being split into groups.
Debra and Leslie are still looking for some volunteers to act
as Coordinators for some areas.
Please contact Debra or Leslie if are able to help out.

One Stop Blues Shop:
(Keri
Thayer) Keri has solicited bids for the One Stop Blues Shop
clothing and accessories. Items
may be ordered at the Meet Your Teacher Picnic.
As a reminder with the new school uniform policy, the
“Blues” clothing will be allowed to be worn at school on the
first Friday of each month.

Restaurants:
(Open Position) Please
continue to support our community restaurants.
Davanni’s is very interested in working with our community
and has some great ideas. Please
contact Keri or Susie if you are interested in taking on this role.
Many thanks to Sharry Schmid for coordinating this event last
year.
Aluminum
Can
Drive
:
(Michelle Imholte) The can drives will continue on the third Saturday
of each month. Please
continue to support this event and the awareness of recycling in our
community.
Dr.
Kahn:
(
Diane
Glaser
)
The schedule is being worked on for this upcoming year and
most likely will occur on Thursday mornings – 4 events (October,
November, February and March). The
meetings for now will be scheduled for the morning as the turnout
has been low at the evening meetings.
Assistance with childcare will be needed.
Please watch for details.
Dr.
Kahn will be available during the Fall Conferences and will be
giving 3 short 10 minute talks to introduce himself to the parents.
He is a great asset to our school families.
